Stay Silent to Remember

BOND Service- short

There is No Way Out of Hell Until You Go and Forgive, especially your own parents because Forgiveness starts at home. Understanding, as an adult, why they did what they did is not forgiveness… We all understand, why they did what they did once we become just like them because we have to make excuses for our own mistakes; but that understanding doesn’t make up for the resentment. The resentment is still there until we go and forgive.

Jesus showed us the way to overcome. As we stand quiet before God, praying… and we suddenly remember that we have aught against [anyone], we should leave our gift at the altar and immediately go to the person and apologize for judging them because judgement is resentment. I’ve forgiven people over the years who I resented but it wasn’t until I forgave my parents specifically by remembering a time when I judged them, that my life changed. The peace that I have now is not just a temporary peace that I would get from time to time in between the highs and lows of typical human emotions. It’s a calmness and a peace 24/7/365… those who say it is impossible are those who’ve never experienced it. I didn’t know it was possible either until I forgave my parents.
