The Silent Prayer

Jesse offers simple instructions on quiet prayer, or as I call it, Standing Quiet Before God… God said to be still and know him because we do not know what to pray for ourselves or others; therefore, instead of vain repetition, we should just commune spirit to spirit with our Father so He can communicate His will to us by the spirit. His Will be done; not our will. God said we are to pray in the spirit and with understanding. But I have seen Satan counterfeit the silent prayer and calling it meditation to scare Christians away from it when scripture clearly tells us in numerous passages that we are to Be Still and Know God. This does not mean to pray in our thoughts; we are not to meditate on any fixed object but rather we are to just observe the thoughts and you will begin to recognize just how evil thoughts are and as you stand quiet before God, you will see that those thoughts are not your thoughts because they are not lovely, pure, good, praiseworthy, etc. They are all ego and God wants us to cast them down and bring them into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
